Document Description
The project is limited to extension of four existing stream culverts and widening of a clear span bridge where Vasco Road crossed Brush Creek and its tributaries. The culvert extensions and bridge widening will allow for widening of Vasco Road and installation of safety improvements. The bridge at Brushy Creek will be widened by 36 feet by adding a new 113-foot-long clear span immediately adjacent (i.e., attached) to the existing bridge. Existing rock slope protection will be removed from around the existing footings abutments and replaced following installation of new steel foundation piles, new concrete abutments, and new wingwalls. The project is located along a 1.5-mile stretch of Vasco Road between Camino Diablo Road and the southern entrance to the Los Vaqueros Reservoir in unincorporated Contra Costa County. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2012-0095-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Contra Costa County Public Works.
