Document Description
This is a re-circulation of the Initial Study due to changes in the waste management plan to meet requirements of the Regional Water Quality Control board. Request to establish a swine farm with an animal population of 106 mature hogs and 205 young hogs on a 9.71 acre parcel. The project includes moving on-site 2 prefabricated cold nursing buildings and 2 prefabricated portable farrowing buildings, construction of a growing barn, and a boar/sow barn. Two 4,500 +/- gallon retention tanks are being proposed to store liquid swine manure to be hauled away by a licensed septic hauler. Composting and field application of swine waste is no longer being proposed. A 100' x 210' +/- bed pack storage area will be used for the storage and drying of bed pack materials for reuse. Excess bed pack will be hauled off-site with liquid swine manure.
