This proposed Amendment aims to target higher intensities and mixed use development in the southern portion of El Camino Real in the City of South San Francisco, to stimulate revitalization, and transition the corridor into a thriving, pedestrian-oriented area, with a mix of uses. The proposed Amendment would incorporate a new land use designation, El Camino Real Mixed Use, into the General Plan. This designation is intended to accommodate high-intensity active uses and mixed-use development in the South El Camino Real area. Retail and department stores; eating and drinking establishments; hotels; commercial recreation; financial, business, and personal services; residential; education and social services; and office uses are permitted.
