The proposed project is Categorically Exempt under § 15302(c) - Replacement or Reconstruction of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines. This project is considered exempt because: 1. The proposed project will be located on the existing elementary school campus in an area where the existing structures are located; 2. The proposed structures will replace the existing structures and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity; 3. The proposed project will serve the existing student population and will not increase student capacity by more than 25% or ten classrooms; 4. The area within and surrounding the project site is not environmentally sensitive; and, 5. It does not have the potential to trigger any of the exceptions identified in CEQA Guidelines § 15300.2.
