Document Description
The canal seepage repair project includes removing the existing asphalt road surfacing of the primary access road adjacent to the east of the California Aqueduct and excavating a shallow trench in the road base to original ground in the top of the canal levee. Load and haul the excavated material to a stockpile area. Drive sheet piles in the bottom of the trench to a depth suitable to stop seepage flow from the canal. Cut off the tops of the sheet piles below the road surface elevation. Replace earth materials from the stockpile area back into the trench and compact the materials. Place new seal coat on the levee to replace the removed seat coat. No previously undisturbed ground will be impacted by staging or any other construction activity and no sensitive species or their critical habitat will be affected.
