Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes an emergency project to repair a failing embankment along the westbound side of State Route 88 in rural Amador County near Pine Grove. An area of embankment approximately 100 feet long and 30 feet high has failed downslope from the highway, and it continues to erode despite various temporary repair measures undertaken by Caltrans Maintenance crews. The proposed project would involve digging a (3) foot deep and five (5) foot wide trench along the length of the slip-out area about 30 feet downslope fromt he highway, then placing rock slope protection (RSP) fabric and 1/4-ton RSP on the damaged embankment area.
