The Housing Element is an integral component of the City's General Plan. The Housing Element addresses existing and future housing needs of all types for persons of all economic groups in the City. The Housing Element is a tool for use by citizens and public officials in understanding and meeting the housing needs in the City of Lathrop.
The State Legislature has mandated that a housing element be included in every General Plan since 1969. The Housing Element is one of 7 required elements in a General Plan.
