Document Description
Second reading or the ordinance approving the development agreement for the wider Azusa Rock Project, which was previously approve on July 2, 2010. The Project approved on July 7, 2010, also modified the 1988 CUP and revised the Azusa Rock Quarry Reclamation Plan. Modification of CUP included: revising the mining activity location, revising the mine phasing sequences, revising the reclamation sequence, and revising the slope reclamation benching technique. Revisions to the Azusa Rock Quarry Reclamation Plan included: updating the type of reclamation from steep slope reclamation schedule for the cast side of the Project Site, and requiring concurrent reclamation with native vegetation. Approval of the development agreement would further the activities taken pursuant to the CUP and Reclamation Plan. All activities furthered by the development agreement are consistent with, and were analyzed in, the Project EIR previously certified by the City on May 17, 2010, and further environmental review as per State CEQA Guidelines section 15162 is not required.
