Document Description
The San Diego Unified School District proposes to construct a 5,293 square foot "green" classroom building on the existing high school campus within an area currently containing four old portable classrooms, and wil serve the existing student population. The structure will provide a modern, commercial woodshop setting that is incoporated into an Industrial Arts classroom. The facility will be energy efficient and will address the dust and noise control with a state-of-the-art ventilation system. Also planned is new landscaping and the replacement of existing chain link fencing with ornamental fencing.

The proposed project will be located on the high school campus in the area where the existing portable classrooms are located and will give substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structures replaced; 2. The area within and surrounding the project site is not environmentally sensitive; 3. It will serve the existing tudent population; 4. It does not have the potential to trigger any of the exceptions identified in CEQA GUidelines Section 15300.2.
