Reasons for Exemption
The project will construct three temporary crossings of Griffin Gulch Creek, located within the area of the Butte Lighting Fire Complex of 2008. The crossings have been used in the past under approved timber harvest plans and the approaches are in place so no vegetation will be removed and the approaches will be returned to the pre=project state after the work is completed and will improve the stability of these approaches through the spreading of cracked river rock on said approaches. The installation of the 3 rocked dips will reduce current sediment production post-project. Water-drafting will adhere to strict screen requirements and to prevent adverse affects to existing fish and wildlife resources.
