Document Description
The project is for a one-time water transfer of up to 2,000 AF from DMB Communities II LLC (DMB) to the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) in 2009. The project involves an exchange of Kern County Water Agency (KCWA) SWP Table A water, pumped at Clifton Court Forebay/ Harvey O. Banks Pumping Plant and thereafter diverted at the South Bay Aqueduct rather than delivered to the Tupman Turnout on the California Aqueduct.

Reasons for Exemption
The project will not result in any foreseeable environmental impacts and may therefore be considered exempt for the following reasons: " The project will result in no additional water being pumped from the Sacramento/ San Joaquin Bay-Delta through the SWP; " The project will use the South Bay Aqueduct and involve no construction or modification to the existing facility; " The only change resulting from the project will be the 2,000 AF of SWP exchange water will be delivered via the South Bay Aqueduct rather than delivered to the Tupman Turnout in Kern County along the California Aqueduct (a difference of approximately 300 miles); " The project water has already been approved, through previous agreements and environmental review, to be transferred at Tupman Turnout for delivery outside of Kern County; and " The project is intended to meet the current demand for water in Santa Clara County, and is not intended to bring new lands into production.
