Document Description
The Pauley Pavilion Renovation and Expansion Project will expand Pauley Pavilion by 56,944 gross square feet (gsf) (from 179,200 gsf to 236,144 gsf) through construction of an enclosed entry concourse and a 2-story subterranean addition of the facility's north side for a team support facilities and a multi-purpose room. In addition, the project will reconfigure interior portions of the arena bowl to provided needed life-safety and accessibility upgrades, improve spectator amenities and provide approximately 1,200 new permanent seats, without reducing the size of the arena floor. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2010 with completion in the fall of 2012 for duration of 30-33 months. The project includes an amendment to the UCLA 2002 Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) to transfer 52,000 gsf from the UCLA Campus Core zone to the Central zone. The project is consistent with the 2002 LRDP's planning principles for the Central zone that provide for recreational and student service uses.
