Document Description
The project is to permanently close and backfill six (6) dangerous abandoned mines within Red Rock Canyon State Park using heavy equipment to push and fill in the vertical shafts and adits of the abandoned mines. An archaeological survey of the mines and recordation of all the features has been completed by a Department Archaeologist. A formal site recond has been completed and a formal report has been filed with the State Historic Preservation Office.
