Document Description
This project involves the burning of brush piles created by the Bureau of Land Management along the Shockey Truck Trail during a Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project. The Project is located in the eastern, rural area of San Diego County. The primary vegetation consists of red shank, scrub oak, and chamise. The Project is along an existing truck trail which provides access along the International Border shared by the US and Mexico. The Bureau of Land Management cut and piled brush 30 ft on each side of the road. Environmental analysis in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act was completed by Bureau of Land Management for their fuel reduction activities. No additional vegetation will be removed in the project area. Pile burning will occure under favorable conditions that minimize smoke impacts.
