Document Description
The City of Santa Cruz Draft General Plan 2030 is an update of the City's existing General Plan and that was adopted in 1992 and subsequently amended. The draft General Plan 2030 extends to the year 2030 and includes the following elements required by State Law: Land Use; Circulation, Conservation, Open Space, Safety, and Noise, and also includes optional subjects related to community design and economic development. Goals, policies and actions are provided for each element. A Land Use Map is provided with three new mixed use land designations applied to the following major transportation corridors: Mission Street, Ocean Street, Soquel Avenue, and Water Street. Other land use designations are largely unchanged from the 1900-2005 General Plan, except for several specific sites. Buildout projections were estimated to provide an estimate of the amount of development that could occur by 2030. The Local Coastal Plan will be updated as a separate document.
