Document Description
The CA Dept. of Public Health, as the responsible agency, will be issuing a water supply permit. The City of Chino Hills proposed project included the arsenic remediation of city well no. 15B through well-head treatment using coagulation filtration (CF) process. CF is an environmentally friendly treatment approach that removes arsenic chloride, sodium hypochlorite, and hydrochloric chemical injection. The resultant ferric hydroxide/arsenate precipitant particles coagulate and are captured in the filter media. A polymer is added to the precipitate to densify the material. The resultant sludge is estimated at 42 gallons per acre foot of water treated and can be disposed of in a local landfill.
