The 40-year old booster station conveys potable water from the Markwood pressure zone to the Orange pressure zone. Due to safety concerns with confined space entry and maintenance issues such as unavailable parts, the booster station needs to be replaced with a more efficient above ground facility. Upon completion, the upgraded replacement Mead Valley Booster Station No. 2 will serve to convey potable water from the Markwood pressure zone to the Orange pressure zone as well as provide additional operational capacity when demand warrants.
