Document Description
The Project includes the development of an aggregate mine with a total Project area of 23.2 acres. Of this area, 9.7 acres are already heavily disturbed by past excavation activities. The ITP, as originally authorized, allows take of california endangered species act designated state threatened San Joaquin kit fox and San Joaquin antelope squirrel and the state endangered giant kangaroo rat. Minor Amendment No. 1 reduced the estimated land acquisition cost of habitat management lands and the associated performance security. Minor Amendment No. 2 revised the limits of work where construction activities would occur. Minor amendments no. 3 and no. 4 extended the deadline for the permanent protection of the HM lands from January 8, 2013, to June 11, 2015. Minor amendment no. 5 further extends the deadline for the permanent protection of the HM lands from June 11, 2015 to January 11, 2016. CDFW issued the ITP and Amendments as a responsible agency under CEQA, relying on an EIS prepared and certified for the project by the lead agency, County of San Luis Obispo.
