Document Description
For the purposes of accessing a large woody debris pile with heavy equipment for fuel reduction work, a low water crossing will be placed approximately 1,000 feet downstream of the Slab Creek Dam on the South Fork of the American River. The low water crossing will be constructed by placing untreated logs (via excavator) in the active stream during the winter months, when flows are approximately 36 cubic feet per second (cfs) or less. A few rocks may be moved to facilitate placement of the logs. The temporary impact of the low flow crossing will affect approximately 0.20 of an acre of active stream.
