Document Description
The project consists of the installation of a security fence and surveillance equipment at the Armory at the Southern Youth Correctional Reception Center Clinic (SYCRCC). The purpose of the project is to reduce the existing safety and security risks associated with the physical location of the Armory. The armory at SYCRCC was built in 2003, prior to the merger between the California Youth Authority *CYA) and CDCR (the former CYA is not the Division of Juvenile Justic within CDCR). The building was built in accordance with the CYA policies that were applicable at the time of construction, but does not meet the CDCR security requirements which became applicable after the two organizations merged.
