The Applicant intends to alter the streambed by replacing two culvert crossings with railroad flat car type bridges. The abutments will be outside the top of the bank. The culvert crossings are expected to catch storm debris after the Gap Fire, become plugged, and then wash out. The project also includes several bendway weirs to reduce erosion o the outer bends, moving the thalweg from the outside bank toe, to the center of the stream. The final number and design of the weirs shall be approved by the Department of the Army Corp of Engineers, and shall be constructed using the standard Corps designs.
