Upper Doane Valley Fuel Reduction
NOE - Notice of Exemption
Remove dead, dying, and diseased trees within a 290-acre area of the Upper Doane Valley in Palomar Mountain State Park to reduce fuel loads. Additionally, living trees within the area will be trimmed up 10 feet from the ground and some living trees less than 10 inch in diameter will be selectively removed. All stumps (existing or new) will be cut to within eight inches of the ground. Dead brush and brush remaining under the dripline of remaining trees will also be removed.

Reasons for Exemption
Project consists of minor public alterations in the condition of land and vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees and is included as "resource management projects" in DPR's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR Section 15300.4.
