Document Description
The Crazy Horse Sanitary Landfill (CHSL) is located on a 160-acre parcel. Approximately 72 acres of this parcel were permitted for solid waste disposal. In 1989, a 6-acre area designated as Module 1 was closed. Approximately 62.5 acres of the CHSL area have been closed to the public since May 30, 2009. Closure construction and postclosure activities are described in the 2010 Final Closure Plan (FCP) and the 2010 Final Postclosure Maintenance Plan (FPCMP). A recycling and maintenance area consisting of approximately 3.5 acres will remain open following post-closure activities.
