Document Description
The City of San Juan Capistrano is proposing to upgrade the street circulation via the acquisition of right of way, the construction of an additional traffic lane by widening the existing bridge and the existing street section, along with the restriping and the resignalication of two intersections. The east leg of the Del Obispo Street/Alipaz Street intersection provides two westbound through lanes, a single westbound left-turn lane, and two eastbound through lanes. The existing street section between Del Obispo Street and Alipaz Street (~300 linear ft), including the bridge deck over Trabuco Creek, wil be widened. Implementation of the proposed project will result in the addition of an additional lane (i.e. westbound left-turn lane), which will increase the operational capacity of the Del Obispo Street/Alipaz Street intersection and provide for a Class 2 bicycle lane within the right of way. The project will also involve the installation of painted medians to provide for appropriate control and delineation for traffic movements through anf adjoining the intersection. tHe bridge will be widened by an additional 29' for a new left turn lane and two bike lanes.
