Document Description
A Notice of Preparation was prepared for the project and circulated for a 30-day review period between January 8, 2009 and February 9, 2009. SInce recirculation of the NOP, the proposed project has been revised by the applicant. This project would amend the adopted La Quinta Resort Specific Plan to allow development of new resort facilities through redevelopment of approximately 26 acres in Planning Area 1 as defined in the Specific Plan. 32 structures containing 176 resort guest units and 50,330 square feet of related commercial/ancillary space to the hotel would be demolished. New development would include up to 807 new hotel units and 138,362 square feet of commercial/ancillary space related to the hotel. Additionally, a new 28,800 square foot off-site resort services center is proposed at an existing employee parking lot located outside the Specific Plan boundary.
