Document Description
Albion ES serves grades K-5 on a traditional, single-track calendar. The eastern portion of the site is occupied by a food "shack" and a lunch "shelter" totaling roughly 3,700 square feet (sf). No kitchen is located on the site. Meals arrive fully prepared and are stored in an on-site refrigerator before they are heated and then served to faculty and students. Additionally, the existing lunch shelter is not enclosed and therefore not functional in inclement weather. The proposed project would provide a new 1,480 sf food service facility that would enable the school to prepare meals on-site. The proposed project would also provide a new 3,600 sf enclosed lunch pavilion that would not be limited by weather conditions.
