Document Description
Replace the existing (severely leaking) wood shingle roof of the temporary shop building at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park to protect tools and housekeeping supplies from water damage until the new permanent RNP/State Parks maintenance building is finished in 2010. Work will remove a single course of sawn shingle roofing and under-layment paper; add 1"x3" wide wood strips to fill in between skip sheathing for a continuous surface; overlay with 30 lb. roofing felt; and overlay with 90 lb. aggregate imbedded rolled roofing (4' wide) nailed down with a senco air nail gun. This project will be split into two phases to allow bats that are displaced by the removal of one side of existing shop roof, to move to the other side of shop roof and other yard buildings. The second phase will displace remaining bats to other buildings at a time of year when no young bats are present.
