Document Description
The 2009 Amendment's primary objective is to provide for a variety of TCDA-assisted redevelopment activities designed to lessen or eliminate documented blight conditions within the Added Territory pursuant to the California Community Redevelopment Law (CCRL; Health and Safety Code Section 33000, et seq.). Such activities might include, but are not limited to, the following: i) provision of affordable housing; ii) construction and/or rehabilitation of structures; iii) infrastructure upgrades for wastewater, drainage, water and circulation systems; iv) economic development; and v) other improvements as permitted by the CCRL. While not proposed as specific projects at this time, these are possible activities that may be undertaken by the TCDA within or for the benefit of the Added Territory over the 30-year effective life of the redevelopment plan, as it is proposed to be amended by the 2009 Amendment. In addition to adding territory (the "Added Territory") to the existing Project Area, the purpose of the 2009 Amendment is to reinstate certain limited eminent domain authority in the Plan within the existing Project Area and to review and possibly modify the Plan's existing projects and program list specific to the Project.
