Document Description
The proposed project is a renewable energy development that would generate up to 750 megawatts (MW) of electricity through the use of wind power on a 10,000-acre project site. The project applicant is requesting: (a) a change in zone classification from the E (20) (Estate 20 acres) District and the A-1 (Limited Agriculture) District to the A (Exclusive Agriculture) District, to the A WE (Exclusive Agriculture, Wind Energy Combining) District and the A FP (Exclusive Agriculture, Floodplain Combining) District in Map 168, (b) a change in zone classification from A-1 to A and A WE in Map 189, (c) a change in zone classification from E (20) to A and A WE in Map 180, (d) a change in zone classification from A-1 to A and A WE in Map 179, (e) a change in zone classification from A-1 to A in Map 197, and (f) a conditional use permit to allow for the use of a temporary concrete batch plant during construction of the wind energy facility. The requested applications would also permit the construction of wind ancillary facilities and supporting infrastructure, as well as a concrete batch plant that is necessary to provide up to 250 wind turbine generators (WTGs), service roads, a power collection system, communication cables, overhead and underground transmission lines, electrical switchyards, project substations, meteorological towers, and operations and maintenance facilities.
