Document Description
This proposed Project involves the construction of a 6-span, cast-in-place, pre-stressed, reinforced concrete box girder on a new roadway alignment. The project site is approx. 2,700 feet long, comprises approx. 19.71 acres, and consists of the existing Hospital Road low-water crossing over the San Benito River and adjacent areas along Hospital Road on both sides of the river. The new bridge will be 580 feet long and 37 feet wide, and consist of two 12-foot wide travel lanes and two 5-foot wide shoulder/bike-lanes. Project will result in impacts to 7.96 acres of CA tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat including temporary impacts to 7.12 acres; the Project will permanently remove 0.84 acres of CA tiger salamander habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of CA tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under the CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
