Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant, Mr. Arman Nazemi. The applicant proposes to remove an existing low water crossing and building a new bridge in its place. The bridge would be a 6-span, cast-in-place, reinforced concrete box girder bridge over the San Benito River. The bridge would measure 580 ft long and 37 ft wide, and would be supported by piles driven into the ground at the abutments. Sheet piling would be placed at the south abutment to retain fill and decrease the abutment footprint, and rock slope protection would be installed at the face of abutment fills to prevent scour. A 2:1 (horizontal:vertical) fill slope would connect the newly aligned Hospital Road to the bridge, and a retaining wall would be built on the southwest corner of the bridge to retain fill material from the roadway approach ramp. After construction of the bridge is complete, the low-water crossing would be removed and the river channel regarded to ~ natural contours.
