Document Description
JBWD proposes to construct one recharge basin facility that would be ~20 to 35 acres in size, and an extension of the Morongo Basin Pipeline from its existing terminus on Yucca Mesa Road to the new basin (proposed project). The project would involve construction of multiple (up to 6) 6 to 7 ft deep subbasins within the recharge basin. Subbasins would be seperated by overflow earthen weirs, allowing water to flow from subbasin to subbasin as needed.
The proposed pipeline would include up to 24,000 linear ft of 16-24 inch diameter pipe connecting to the existing Morongo Pipeline at Yucca Mesa Road. The pipeline would be constructed within existing roadway rights-of-way. Annual average recharge is anticiapted to be up to 2,000 acre ft per yr of State Water Project water depending on availability.
