Document Description
During summer months and peak electric demand, the existing conductor expands, causing the conductor to sag beyond the engineered specifications for the transmission line. When the transmission lines sage, ground clearance is reduced to levels that pose a safety hazard and are no compliant with the California Public Utilities Commission's General Order 95 (G.O. 95). The proposed project would include raising 81 existing towers and installing a new 795ACSS conductor. The towers will be raised by crane or by helicopter. Wooden poles that will be used to support "safety nets" will be placed (temporarily) into jurisdictional waters at several locations. Once the project is complete, the poles will be removed and the holes will be backfilled.
