Document Description
Vegetation maintenance activities are proposed along an existing fire control road utilized by Cal Fire. The road serves as a wildfire defense zone that primarily follows a north-south oriented ridgeline. furels reduction activities are proposed along approximately 9 miles of existing fire control road for a maximum distance of 150 feet on either side of the road. Vegetation will be selectively removed by a combination of methods, including chainsaws and a mechanical masticator. Treated vegetation will be disposed by either burning, chipping, or mastication.

Implementation of the project will not impact threatened or endangered species, cultural resources, or result in significant erosion or sedimentation. A cultural resources assessment was completed for the project and the results were submitted in a confidential report to the Cal Fire Associate State Archaeologist. No impacts to know archaeological sites will occur. Project activities will be scheduled to occur after the flowering season for sensitive plant species.
