Document Description
This project will install a new pre-cast bridge across Nicasio Creek in Nicasio and remove the old rusted and rotted out existing bridge. Four four-inch Helix Piers will be installed on both sides of Nicasio Creek. The west side piers will be installed in the bank outside the 100 year flow and the east side piers will be installed outside of the bank. The pre-cast concrete bridge sections will be brought in by cranes and set in place on top of the Helix Piers. The bridge will be bolted to the Helix Pier head and a small concrete footing will be poured to connect the piers together. A concrete curb will be poured on top of the bridge to prevent direct run off into the creek. Railings will be installed along the bridge. Once the new bridge has been completed the old bridge will be removed using cranes. The old bridge will be removed to a location at least 100 feet from top of bank where it will be dismantled and loaded into a dump truck. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement 1600-2008-0353-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
