Document Description
Re-seal the opening to the Fan Hill Mine shaft for public safety purposes at Fan Hill at Indio Hills Palms. The abandoned mine is a vertical shaft approximately 8' by 8' and 50' deep. The mine shaft was previously closed in 2006 with reinforced steel plates under NOE with SCH# 2006048144, but the steel plates were removed by unknown vandals. The current project will seal the shaft by installing an expanded polyurethane foam plug into the upper part of the shaft, which will be covered by 2 feet of soil and made level to grade. A camera will be lowered into the mine shaft prior to closure to ensure no wildlife is in the shaft.
