Document Description
This projec is a 20 acre fuel reduction project within the community of Idyllwild, CA. The property is owned by Riverside County Parks and has no permitted structures developed upon it. CAL FIRE inmate crews will hand cut brush with chainsaws and then drag the material to seasonal roads where the material will be chipped and dispersed on site. In areas where it is not feasible to drag the material to seasonal roads the material may be piled and burned at a later date.

Reasons for Exemption
Only brush species and suppressed or diseased trees are to be removed from the project area, and all material will either be hand carried off site and chipped or hand piled and burned in order to minimize ground disturbance. A CNDDB search revealed no known threatened or endangered species within the project area. An archaeological records check and survey conducted in 2004 by Applied Earthworks Inc. revealed no known cultural or historical resources within the project area. A CAL FIRE archaeologist visited the site 08/15/2008 and was unable to locate any cultural or historical resources.
