Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 14 , 15314
Reasons for Exemption
Class 14 exempts a minor addition to a school within existing school grounds, where the addition does not increase original student capacity by more than 25% or 10% classrooms, whichever is less. The project would add six new modular classroom buildings, housing 30 students each. For the 2008-2009 school year, the project would not increase original student capacity by 7 percent (60 new/868 existing) for the 2009-2010 school year. The project would require the paving of an asphalt pad (6,160 s.f.) on an existing grassy area. There is no reasonable probability that the project would have a significant effect on the environment due to unual circumstances because the site is already developed with a K-5 school.
