Document Description
The project encompasses 900 linear feet of Wildcat Creek within the Tilden Golf Course. The project is limited to restoration activities within Wildcat Creek to stabilize and enhance habitat into a system of steps and pools. Three permanent engineered steps will be placed at the downstream point of the project reach and below each of two existing headcuts. The project will also add a limited amount of sediment and rock to supplement and natural sediment, allowing for continued self-organization of the channel substrate into stable steps and pools. A channel will be created through the backwater areas of the downstream sediment basin to create a more natural channel and floodplain configuration. Minor grading (200 feet of grading along a 500-foot reach) will be done to stabilize the banks. Native plants will be installed along the length of the project. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2012-0002-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, East Bay Regional Park District.
