Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0375-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Truckee River Watershed Council. The restoration project will restore 46 acres of a degraded meadow system by restoring hydrologic function of the stream channel and meadow habitat. The project will result in improvements water quality, riparian habitat, and increased frequency of floodplain inundation and groundwater connectivity. The Project consists of conducting watershed restoration activities within the Little Truckee River watershed around the Perazzo Meadows area and updating the Perazzo Meadows Grazing Allotment Management Plan. The proposed restoration activities include using the fill techniques to relocate stream flow to historic remnant channels while closing off existing degraded channels and installing rock grade control structures to maintain meadow elevation where flow exists.
