Humboldt County is a richly diverse landscape of uses and settings, including urban, suburban, and raw residential, commercial, industrial, public facility, agriculture, timber, and open space uses, to name a few.
Document Description
This project is comprised of two (2) parts. One part of the project is the update of the Humboldt County Housing Element, a required Element of the General Plan. The Element is currently certified as in compliance with State law by the State Housing and Community Development Department. It identifies housing needs in the unincorporated areas of the County, and directs the implementation of programs to address those housing needs. The update is necessary to respond to changes in housing needs over the past five (5) years; new information provided by the State Department of Finance; to comply with State law regarding Housing Elements; and to adopt local policy options. The second part of the project is the adoption of numerous zoning ordinance changes and plan changes to implement the policies and programs of the Element.
