Document Description
The proposed project involves the development of a food processing and warehouse distribution facility by the project applicant, Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market Inc. (F&E). F&E currently has an existing 766,304-square foot facility, on approximately 88.4 acres, that receives sorts, prepares, re-packages, stores, and distributes food and household products to up to approximately 235 stores located in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada. This facility was approved by the March JPA in 2006 and is referred to as the "2006 Facility." F&E is currently proposing to expand the 2006 facility to serve an additional 315 stores located in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada. The expansion may also supply products to warehouse and manufacturing facilities anticipated to be located in Northern California (which would directly supply Northern California stores). This expansion would add approximately 1,145,600 square feet warehouse and food processing space, as well as additional parking to the existing facility. The expansion of the 2006 facility would take place entirely within the existing 88.4-acre project site. The combined approved 2006 facility and the proposed expansion are referred to as the "proposed project." Under the proposed project, a total of approximately 550 stores would be supplied from the F&E facility.
