Document Description
The University of California, Santa Barbara is proposing to construct a phased housing project on the western edge of the University's Main Campus. This project would consist of 543 units, ranging from studios to three-bedroom townhouses. Ocean Road will be reconfigured to accommodate this project and the realignment will include the connection of 12 Isla Vista streets to Ocean Road for bicycle and pedestrian access. Also proposed in this project are 26,000 square feet of commercial uses on the western side of Ocean Road and 54,400 square feet of Academic and Support uses on the eastern side. A total of 1,379 parking spaces will be provided. In addition, the existing Student Health building will be demolished and relocated to the eastern side of Ocean Road adjacent to Parking Structure 22.
