Present Land Use
County of Riverside General Plan Land Use Designations and County of Riverside Zoning Districts
Document Description
The City of Desert Hot Springs proposes to annex ~4,000 acres of unincorporated territory under the jurisdiction of the County of Riverside into the City's municipal service boundaries. This would increase the size of the City from ~23 sq. miles to ~29.25 sq. miles. Existing County of Riverside General Plan policies would be retained, so that the present rules governing land uses, circulation, open space, etc. would not change. Since the County's current zoning district standards for this area are not in conformance with the County's land use designations, the City proposes to re-zone this land with its own zoning district standards that correspond most directly with the County's land use policies for this area.
