Document Description
Expand the Cuyamaca outdoor School at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Expansion will include construction of two dormitory buildings for 72 students each, a day use lodge, a new restroom, two new shade structures, a new basketball court, a gravel parking area, and a new asphalt driveway. The existing outdoor amphitheater seating area and existing outdoor assembly areas will be expanded. The maximum number of students per week would expand from 288 to 432. No trees or native vegetation will be removed. No new trails will be created and all students will be restricted to existing trails and improved areas. State Park staff will conduct annual trainings with Outdoor School staff regarding staying on existing trails. New structures will only be placed on previously excavated areas that do not contain archaeological resources. Project supports education programs.
