The translocation of from one (1) to six (6) desert tortoises to State lands that historically had desert tortoise and were purchased for the protection of species. The tortoises will be placed in a good habitat that currently has low to no desert tortoise population. Collection of monitoring data will contribute to the collective knowledge of translocations as a viable technique.
