Document Description
The California Department of Public health (CDPH) is statutorily responsible for regulating public water systems and for establishing primary drinking water regulations with which public water systems must comply. CDPH has adopted a revised primary drinking water standard for arsenic that is more stringent than the previous standard and is the same as that established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

CDPH has determined that the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act and further finds the adoption of the subject regulations does not fall within any exception to categorically exempt projects described in Public Resources Code 21084
