The project is a focused update of Santa Rosa's General Plan, which was last updated in 2002. This update focuses on the Housing Element and will incorporate policies of recent planning documents and new policies regarding climate protection in a document with a horizon year of 2035. The project encompasses the Santa Rosa Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) area, which includes approximately 29,100 acres, or slightly more than 45 square miles.
