Document Description
The BMDSF Management plan provides direction and guidance for the management of forest resources, both timber and non-timber, with an emphasis on resource protection and enhancement, demonstration and education, research, forest management, and recreation. The management direction on BMDSF over the next 5-10 years is to restore the property to the sustained production of timber in the wake of the 2015 Valley Fire. Timber harvesting is one of the mechanisms used to implement this forest management direction, conduct research and demonstrations, protect public trust resources and generate revenue. Other mechanisms include, but are not limited to, reforestation, road rehabilitation, watershed restoration and fuels reduction.
