The Housing Element is part of the City's General Plan and sets forth the policies and programs to meet the housing needs of all types of households in our City. The programs included in this document are designed to provide a variety of housing choices to current and future Sacramento residents. State law (Government Code Sections 65580-65589.8) requires each local government to review and update the Housing Element of its General Plan at least every five years.
